2026 Kinship Respite Summer Camp
Direction Home of Eastern Ohio is requesting applications from not-for-profit community organizations in the City of Youngstown to provide respite in the form of summer camps offering relief to older adult kinship caregivers (55+) of minor children who reside in the City of Youngstown. Applicants must be registered as a Day Camp with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and demonstrate the capacity to provide a qualified workforce, including speech and occupational therapy services, transportation, lunches, healthy snacks, and structured daily activities.
A service contract will be awarded and will be for a one-time, multi-week camp that will occur in the summer of 2026. The Summer Camp Kinship Respite Program is funded through Community Development Block Grant- City of Youngstown.

Applications for Funding must be submitted no later than 12:00pm Friday, February 27, 2026.

An alternative to nursing home care that helps financially eligible individuals aged 59 and younger, including children, who have significant healthcare needs due to a disabling condition.
Mahoning County Senior Levy
Care management and supportive services for individuals over 60 in Mahoning County who wish to remain at home.
