Family Caregiver Support

Go Ahead and Breathe

Caregiving can feel overwhelming and lonely, but we are here to help. Direction Home of Eastern Ohio will work in partnership with you to ease your responsibilities and guide you toward a more positive future for yourself and your loved one.

Eligibility Requirements

Caregivers of adults 60 or older with dementia diagnosis

or adults 60 or older with custody of someone under 18

Information and education services are available to all caregivers.

Free Support Groups are open to all caregivers: 

Austintown Senior Center (112 Westchester Dr. Austintown, OH) Second Wednesday of the Month 12:15pm-1:15pm

Caregivers of Dementia Support Group-The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning- Main Library RM 266 (305 Wick Avenue Youngstown, OH) Second Tuesday of the Month 2pm-3pm

Thrive 10:10 Girard United Methodist Church (22 N. Market St. Girard) Fourth Wednesday of Month 10:30am-11:30am

First Presbyterian Church of Warren (256 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren) Fourth Thursday of the Month 2pm-3pm

The Process

Contact Direction Home of Eastern Ohio for information and referral.

2.

We will determine preliminary needs and will provide information about various support services available to you.

Services May Include:

Training, resources and information

Respite care, adult daycare

Personal care

Support Groups (call us for schedule/location in your area)
